The DVSA continue to expect all candidates to wear a face covering when attending a driving test.
Following the government’s announcement setting out plans to move to step 4 of the roadmap in England on 19 July the DVSA continue to expect all candidates taking a driving test to wear a face covering (PPE) unless there is a physical or mental illness or impairment, a disability or wearing it would cause severe distress.
The candidate must tell the DVSA if there is a good reason not to wear a face covering when booking the driving test. If the candidate did not tell the DVSA, then sign into https://www.gov.uk/change-driving-test
The DVSA are encountering long delays with the driving test bookings in several postcode areas.
The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) are gradually releasing new practical driving test dates, but some areas throughout the UK, Wales, and Scotland are encountering delays of up to 20 weeks.
The Big Question. When do I book my intensive course? The answer is now, because if you wait too long the driving instructor’s diary availability is going to decrease. At least by allocating a driving instructor you can discuss an intensive driving course plan and provisionally book some dates in the diary.
Arrange with your driving instructor to do part of your intensive driving course and this will enable you to look for an earlier test date, because you will be nearer to test standard and then use the outstanding hours of your course just prior to the test.
